Okay I just totally made this up, using what I can find in the kitchen (oh, except for the cream which I ran downstairs for), so please don’t be mad any Alfredo experts out there.
I had been in my bedroom all day when my mom called me, then called me a “hermit” and asked me to prepare dinner for us ladies. There was only me, mom, my sister-in-law and our one-year old young lady. My sister-in-law was on her way home from work, give or take half an hour, and brother called earlier to say he’d be eating in the office (it’s like he knew I was going to make dinner). I wasn’t too happy to be out of bed but I thought it not nice to form a protest. I wasn’t 15 anymore and besides, mom has been making dinner for everyone since we started our vacation here in my brother’s home. Of course, our little angel has her own food so I actually only needed to make a dish good for 3.
half a stick of butter
3 cloves garlic, crushed
250 ml cream
15g cream cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
a dash of salt
pepper to taste
pasta that was enough for 3-4 persons (I think)
Cook pasta in boiling water for 8 minutes or al dente. Immediately remove from heat afterwards, or pour cold water to halt cooking process.
To make the sauce:
- Heat butter in pan, sauté minced/crushed garlic.
- Add cream, cream cheese and grated cheese. Stir in low heat until you reach desired thickness, creaminess or consistency.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Add broccoli and smoked salmon flakes.
- Cool sauce and toss pasta with sauce.
At least I think that’s the order with which I made the pasta. It made the most sense. I thought it was pretty yum, but I would think that. As for my mom and my sister-in-law, they were either quite happy with it too or they were just too kind to complain.
