We all had a long weekend and you can bet our idea of fun and relaxation was whipping out a small bunch of sample invites for another upcoming Kaeratana bride, all while the gentlemen were watching the toddler.
These darling die-cut paper jackets were made with the Xcut Lilies Die Set. We have been loving the wonderful dies and designs from UK-based Xcut, with them producing some of our favorites for several collections now and we invite you to try them out too! Their dies are made from the highest grade carbonized steel and are known for their superior cut. Not in the photo, but also included in this particular die set is a very staple square die that could be used to frame the current "lily-scape” or other projects. This makes it very versatile, either as cut-in or cut-out.
Here we had the die and our card stock run through our trusty (A4!) Xcut Xpress in the studio. What is perfect about this die-cutting machine is how technically and manually easy it is to use, with its built in dial for pressure adjustment. With just the base plate and top plate, we set the die face up and the paper on top (for this project, approximately 290 gsm) in between (that simple!) and we had the dial set a little below mark 5 in pressure. Just like that, no complicated sandwiches required!
Paper in pearlescent pastels are always fun to keep around so we always have them in stash. Delightfully sunny colors yellow, pink and a shade the color of lovely, raw silk were our top sample picks to combat the rainy weekend.
Rinse-and-repeating the die-cutting dance, the jackets turned out really great! The unassuming glimmer works perfectly well against classic, simple white. Pearlescence + white = always our favorite palette!
Easy as that! The actual invites will soon be in production and we will be posting them when we can!
